- Orientation, professional boundaries, product identity, mechanism, and comparison of current prescribing information.
- Full-face assessment and upper-face functional anatomy: glabella, forehead, lateral canthus, and brow balance.
- Lower-face functional anatomy: masseter, orbicularis oris, mentalis, and DAO, with attention to speech, oral competence, and expression.
- Patient selection, contraindications, informed consent, clinical photography, documentation, aftercare, and follow-up.
- Aseptic preparation, individualized planning, complication assessment, four case exercises, full-face assessment map, and final knowledge check.
Three-hour in-person component
- Review functional assessment and patient-specific planning with Dr. No.
- Practice landmark identification, marking, and simulated technique.
- Observe physician demonstration and participate in directly supervised patient hands-on when individually approved.
- Review documentation, adverse effects, escalation, aftercare, and follow-up.

Three-hour in-person component

- Practice landmarks, treatment planning, and simulated instrument handling.
- Observe physician demonstration and take part in directly supervised patient hands-on in a suitable selected treatment area when approved.
- Review documentation, complication response, aftercare, and follow-up principles.
The 46-page illustrated filler manual and assigned learning activities follow the 14-day release schedule described in the cancellation and materials terms below. Treatment areas depend on the patient’s needs and participant readiness. Teaching may address nasolabial folds, chin, and lips; no participant is guaranteed to inject every area.

Who may apply
Licensed healthcare professionals only.
One review before registration
Dr. No verifies the applicant’s active professional license in the official public database and reviews whether the planned clinical activity is within the applicant’s lawful Washington scope. A healthcare title or out-of-state license alone does not qualify.
CNA, medical-assistant, esthetician, and master-esthetician credentials alone do not qualify. Unlicensed applicants are not eligible.
Individualized clinical participation
Live-patient practice, when approved, is directly supervised by Dr. No. The written registration confirmation states the approved activity, included products and any additional charge before payment.
Clinical participation remains subject to participant readiness, model suitability, patient consent and Dr. No’s final day-of safety review. If the confirmed activity cannot safely proceed, the written rescheduling or refund terms apply. Photography, video, and audio recording are not permitted.
Certificate of Completion issued
After successfully completing the required pre-course work, knowledge and readiness checks, and the in-person component, each participant receives a Novella Academy Certificate of Completion identifying the completed pathway and 8 instructional hours.
Completing both pathways documents 16 total hours. This is a course-completion certificate, not accredited CE/CME, board certification, licensure, or independent practice authority.
Before your visit
Use the individual access link to complete the assigned course manual, workbook, cases, knowledge check and readiness confirmation before attendance. Bringing your own model is encouraged, but the model must be approved in advance.
Do not enter patient identifiers in course materials or bring injectable products or personal sharps. Final preparation, arrival, parking, and suite-entry instructions accompany written course confirmation.
Your hands-on experience
Bring a model, or ask us for support.
Bringing your own model is encouraged to support continuity from consultation through follow-up. If you cannot bring a model, tell us when applying. The clinic may be able to help arrange one; availability is confirmed in advance.
Every model is assessed and approved by Dr. No before treatment and completes clinical and teaching consent. Follow-up is coordinated through the clinic. Do not send patient photographs or health information through the Academy inquiry form.

Included in tuition
Individual access to the current guided pre-course materials, approximately five hours of assigned learning activities, three hours in person, physician demonstration, supervised hands-on when approved, basic supplies, individual feedback, and an eight-hour Certificate of Completion after successful completion.
Product terms before payment
Practice products are separate for semi-private and private 1:1 training and are quoted after the planned treatment and model are reviewed. The scheduled November toxin workshop includes an allocated allowance of up to 50 units, and the scheduled filler workshop includes up to 1 cc.
Included product is used only for an appropriate approved patient; it is not take-home product, and actual use may be less than the stated maximum based on patient suitability and Dr. No’s clinical judgment. Any additional product is used only with prior cost agreement. Accommodation and transportation are not included.
Registration terms
Cancellations and changes.
Final cancellation and rescheduling terms are provided with the mutually agreed date and written registration confirmation before payment.
- More than 14 days before the in-person session: 100% tuition refund.
- From exactly 14 days before through 7 days before the in-person session: 70% tuition refund.
- Fewer than 7 days before, or a no-show: normally no tuition refund, subject to the written exceptions and applicable rights.
Cancellation timing is based on when Novella receives your written cancellation request, measured from the scheduled session start time in Pacific Time.
If Novella cancels, the applicable fee is refunded or the session is rescheduled by agreement. Material changes or inability to deliver the agreed in-person component require an agreed alternative or refund for the undelivered portion. Applicable statutory rights are preserved.
Pre-course materials & personal use
Course materials are sent 14 days before your scheduled in-person session, once registration is confirmed and tuition is paid in full. Earlier payment does not provide earlier access. For registrations confirmed within 14 days, materials are sent after confirmation and payment.
The 70% tuition-refund period begins exactly 14 days before the session, when course materials become available to eligible participants. The cancellation schedule above applies.
Materials are provided for the registered participant’s personal study only. Sharing, forwarding, lending, selling, uploading, or redistributing them without prior written permission is prohibited, except as permitted by applicable law.
